Daily Nebraskan: A few weeks ago, 34-year-old Jessica Johnson of Lincoln, Nebraska died. We're not sure how she died so young, since her obituary doesn't list a cause of death.
But we know she was engaged to 58-year-old Terry Kurtzhals. And like any grieving fiancé, Terry had one thing on his mind: Get back the engagement ring.
So, Terry decided his best strategy was to impersonate a FUNERAL DIRECTOR . . . so that the mortuary would let him see the body and he could get the ring.
But the people at the funeral home were suspicious when he couldn't answer basic questions like, "Where do you work as a funeral director?" or "Why would we let you examine a dead woman's body?" So they called the police.
Terry was arrested for impersonating a funeral director, which is actually a real crime. And the value of the engagement ring? About $500.
