Gawker: Earlier this year, 86-year-old Lawrence Loeffler from La Pine, Oregon shot and killed his 83-year-old wife Betty . . . for putting the lid on the ketchup bottle on too tightly.
When police arrived, Loeffler told them he'd shot his wife in self-defense during an argument about laundry. Then the story changed, and he said his wife and stepdaughter were conspiring to kill him.
Finally, he admitted he'd murdered Betty . . . and told them the reason was the ketchup bottle. He was also upset at her because his stepdaughter hadn't wished him a happy birthday.
He's now on trial for murder.
