Rap mogul Jay-Z has finally opened up on his new Brooklyn Nets logo and what ultimately inspired the latest Big Apple sports fashion craze.

According to Young Hov, the design is influenced from local subway trains.

With this new Nets move, Jay-Z and Nets brass looked to the past in order to ensure the team's place in the future. Vintage New York transit system signage served as their chief inspiration. "It was really a take off of the old subway signs, if you look at the old subway signs they were in black and white. It was that strong, beautiful, iconic black and white," Jay said. "I wanted to pick something that would stand the test of time and be here forever."

Grammy-winning rapper T.I. has finally come to terms with a release date for his upcoming Trouble Man LP, promising to drop it in late summer.

While fans anticipate the project's September release, Tip said he will focus on heating up the summer with new music.

Trouble is brewing for T.I. The Grand Hustle chief has announced a release date for his eighth album Trouble Man. During his visit to Angie Martinez' radio show on Tuesday, Tip revealed that the follow-up to 2010's No Mercy will drop on September 4. "Look forward to those summertime anthems that we've grown to love about T.I.," he previously told Fuse of the project, which has spawned the singles "Love This Life" and "Like That."

JAY-Z doesn't have anything new in the pipeline right now...because he's taking a break to chill with his four-month-old daughter, Blue Ivy.

He says, quote, "I thought I would be more inspired to have all these new feelings to talk about, but I really just want to hang out with my daughter. I want to enjoy this time for what it is.

"I'm sure that bug to get back in the studio will come back at some point."

Meanwhile, Jay-Z the businessman is still working. He's developing a music festival called "Made in America," which will go down in Philadelphia over Labor Day weekend.

He will headline the show, but none of the other acts have been announced.

WHITNEY HOUSTON'S family is getting a reality show. "The Houston Chronicles" will debut sometime later this year on Lifetime.

The focus of the show will be Whitney's brother Gary and sister-in-law Pat, and their efforts to "support and guide" Whitney's daughter BOBBI KRISTINA.

Whitney's mother CISSY HOUSTON and her cousin DIONNE WARWICK will also appear on the show.

Pat Houston says a reality show was in the works BEFORE Whitney's death, but the direction was changed after she died.

A photographer posted a picture of LADY GAGA the other day, showing off what looks like an engagement ring. And here's what he wrote in the caption...quote, "Gaga showing off her new engagement ring!"

But so-called "sources" say Gaga is NOT engaged. (--We don't even know if she's attached. Last we heard, she and boyfriend Taylor Kinney had broken up.)

Sunday is Mother's Day, and if you're dating a single mom, it can be a little tricky. To help you out, we've got a list of Four DO'S and DONT'S...so you won't make a fool of yourself in front of her or her kids. Listen up.

#1.) Do Check with Her Beforehand. Obviously you want to do something special for her on Mother's Day. But since whatever you do also needs to involve her kids, you should clear any ideas with her beforehand.

#2.) DON'T Overwhelm Her if It's a New Relationship. You should be dating pretty seriously before you tag along for any family activities. If the relationship is still new, don't EXPECT to be included on Mother's Day.

#3.) DON'T Panic if the Kids Don't Want You Around. Even if your relationship is serious, Mother's Day is about her and the kids, so THEY need to come first.

--If her kids just want to spend time with their mom, you need to back off for a day and just go with it.

#4.) DON'T Mess with the Ex. It's not at all that unusual for parents who are separated but still on good terms to spend a day like Mother's Day together. So don't take it personally if you have to take a backseat to the ex this weekend.

The "New York Post" claims EMINEM makes just ONE demand when he stays at hotels...but it's a weird one.

Supposedly, he wants TINFOIL "wrapped around the windows" of his room to keep light out so he can sleep. (--I suppose we can assume that Eminem sleeps during the day...and not all that successfully.)

He also likes to have "white noise" playing through speakers. It's unclear if he provides that, or if the hotels set that up.

(--All right, I have to ask: Tinfoil? Why tinfoil? Is this something that makes total sense that I'm not aware of?)

(--I realize that not all hotels have adequate curtains for day-sleeping...but is TINFOIL really the easiest, most rational solution to blocking out the light?)

If you haven't heard it, USHER recently released a song called "Lemme See". The most interesting part is when RICK ROSS drops a verse mentioning the Trayvon Martin murder.

He raps, quote, "Had the valet parking / Chanel hoodie on / Looking like Trayvon Martin / George Zimmerman don't want it." (???) (--You can find it on YouTube. The part about Trayvon begins at the 2:50 mark.)
